Romantic Blooms

We are holding another awesome challenge over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.  Our Sponsor this month is Lemon Shortbread.

When Denise asked me to create something with the Romantic Blooms image from Lemonshortbread, I could see placing flowers on the side of an oval with the image in the center of the oval.  It was not hard to come up with the idea of butterflies and bees.  It just seemed natural and well kind of romantic, like the title of the image.

I loved coloring this image using my copic markers.  I also used some pattern papers and some Wild Orchad Crafts flowers all from my stash.

I also used some glossy accents to help add a little demension to parts of the flowers

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you will join in over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends for our Challenge #78.  We look forward in seeing what you have created.

Party Till the Pigs Come Home

Happy Wednesday and it's my turn to host the Crafty Creations Challenges this month.    For my card I have chosen this cute little Party Pig from Beccy's Place which happens to be our sponsor for Challenge #362.  You can find The Party Pig here.

After printing the image I colored it with my Copic markers, picked out a piece of semi printed paper, a fence die which I cut using white card stock and inked up with some Distress Oxide ink.  I wanted to keep the card clean and simple so that the image would stand out.

I hope you will come on over to the Crafty Creations Challenges blog and enter into our Anything Goes Challenge.  We look forward in seeing all of your creations.

Thanks for stopping by.

Believe in Yourself

Sometimes you need a card for encouragement and this sentiment says it all, Believe in Yourself.

It was time to create a card for Craft-Dee BowZ and I was watching a video from Jennifer McGuire about painting with Distress Oxides.  Well not really painting, mainly lifting the ink off the image with a paintbrush.

First I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock to 5.25" x 4", I arranged my floral image from Mama Elephant then stamped the image with Versa Mark ink and added some white embossing powder.  Heat set the image, added some Distress Oxide inks starting with Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and then Broken China, went over it with a dry cloth to buff the ink off the tops of the embossed areas. I then used a damp paint brush and started painting with water on the inside of the flowers, which started lifting the ink off.

After I finished lifting the ink from the image I used a white gel pen to make dash line and dots all over the flowers to give them more detail.  I added some Nuvo Crystal drops and then added a bow that I created with my Craft-Dee BowZ tool.  It is so easy to make a perfect bow with this little tool.  You can get your own tool here.

To see Jennifer's video please go here.  Her instructions are really great.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope  you have enjoyed my card.

Easter Bunny Girl

This sweet little image is from Kinda Cute by Patricia who just happens to be our sponsor for this month over at Craft-Dee BowZ

I remember always taking my kids to our local grocery store to see the Easter Bunny. Then on Easter Sunday we always had a member dress up like the Easter Bunny and pass out small brown paper bags full of candy, an apple and an orange. So when I seen this little cutie it brought back some very sweet memories.

I was thrilled that the majority of our team decided to pick the same image and excited to see how each one of us would use the image.

Here is an overall picture of my card.

Several various copic markers were used for the coloring and the pattern papers are from Lawn Fawn. I loved how she turned out.

Here is a close up of the bow that I created using my handy dandy Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make the double loop bow. Be sure to grab one of them if you haven't already done so and join in on our Challenge this month. As always it's Anything Goes with a Handmade bow.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my creation.
