Eileen Hull's Wrap Journal in #2

Hi there and Kathy here, I come to you today to show my second journal I have created using Eileen Hull's Wrapped Journal die in a Reddish - Orange color.

Here is a couple shots from the inside.

A side view.

And a close-up of the key charm on the inside that I used to keep my elastic from going through the outside.

Step 1:
Cut the mat board with Eileen's die:  sandwich used, cutting plate, die, mat board and crease pad.

Step 2:
Add texture paste to the front using a palette knife and a stencil of your choice.

Step 3:
Spray the inside of the journal with the oxide sprays and a little water, dry them and then spray with the distress sprays, a little water and dry those.  Repeat this layering technique, drying in between until you achieve the look you are happy with.

Strep 4:
Add some ink to a back ground stamp and stamp over the inside to give more texture.

Step 5:
Repeat Step 2 on the outside of the journal, directly over the texture paste, until desired color is achieved.

Step 6:
Apply a little of the Mica Spray over the texture piece with a small sponge.

Step 7:
Let the the mat board dry for 24 hours.

Step 8:
Apply a thin coat of Mica Glaze.  This will protect the inks.

Step 9:
Punch a hole in the center of the die and enforce with a grommet.  String the journal with elastic and add the elastic that will go around the journal making sure the key charm is tied to the inside of the journal and then pull the other end of the elastic through the hole that you made in the center of the spine.

Step 10:
Add the charm that will rest on the front of the journal with a jump ring to the elastic that wraps around the outside of the journal.

Step 11:
Embellish the journal with various charms to the spine.

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree

For my hosting project, I created this Die Cut design card using dies from Spellbinders.  The theme for this card is Bringing Home the Christmas Tree.  Seems like everywhere you look someone is decorating with that old red truck.  Well I decided to create a purple truck because it matched my paper.  When I used the silver CS I did not know that it would not photograph very well.  I hope you can see the card without the glare.

Here is a close up of the bow, that I made using the Craft-Dee BowZ bow tool.

I hope I have inspired you and I hope that you will join in during the challenge.  Our sponsor for the this month is LeAnn's World.

She has some adorable images so please pay her a visit, I'm sure you will find something in her shop that you will enjoy.

Until next time,

Tara's Halloween Album

Morning everyone, I know this is a little late (actually a lot late) to post, but I didn't get around to editing the photos.  I created this 6x6 Halloween  Mini album inspired by Donna Kaufman from MiniBooksRMe for my Step-daughter's birthday, which happened to be on Halloween.  Yes she was always her Daddy's Little Witch.  Seriously she is a wonderful woman, daughter and best mom ever to 4 beautiful children.  And is loved by everyone who meets her, especially all of us in this household.

Here is a picture of Tara and myself.  Many have often said she looks to much like me to be my step-daughter, Ha Ha.

Now on with the mini...

Here is the front.

And some various pictues from the inside of the album.

These pictures are of two of my grandchildren.  The little girl on the right and the clown is my grandson.

I used several stamps from Tim Holtz's Monsters Reunion.  Tara is and has always liked the monster side of Halloween, more than the cutesy witches, etc.

Did I mention that every colored image was colored using my copic markers that I adore.

There are several tags in the album where each of them is decorated a little differently.  This one I stamped a second time and fussy cut his head out and placed it on an action wobbler.

Frank has to make an appearance of course.

Here is the spine of the album telling her to "Enter if you Dare".

In Donna's album, she had charms hung from every side tag.  Just one of the many features in this mini that made it oh so appealing to me.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  I know it is Christmas season but I just haven't had the time to get the photos edited and a blog written for this Halloween project and I still have not had the time to create any Christmas Cards.

Until next time,
Kathy

Kandi Kane

Wow, it's December already.  Where has this year gone?

The card I have to share with you today is an image from LeeAnn;s World 101 Digital Stamps by the name of  Kandi Kane.   This shop just happens to be our sponsor over at Craft-Dee BowZ for the month of December.

I created a shaker card using this sweet image.  I haven't created a shaker in a long time and almost forgot how to do it.  In fact I didn't double up on my foam tape and had to start all over.

But anyway this is what I came up using this darling image.

I colored the image up with various Copic Markers, cut her out and added some final touches with wink of stella and some gel pens.  Then I created a bow with my Craft-Dee BowZ tool and this cute little Christmas Shaker card was finished.

Here is a closer look at the bow, I added a bit of bling to the center.

For a Very Special Friend

The card I have to share with you today was created using all die cuts and some very soft pattern papers.  I realize this card looks like it should be created for the spring time, but I am really dreading the long winter months especially after this last week of what should be weather for December.   A few nights reach down into the low twenties.

I created the bow using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool.  Here is a close-up of the bow.

Happy Fall

The card I have to share with you today was created using an image from Imagine That Digital Stamps by the name of  Crows and Pumpkins.  Imagine That just happens to be our sponsor over at Crafty Creations Challenges for Challenge #400.

I colored the image up with various Copic Markers, then for the background, I used Lawn Fawns Stitched Hillside Borders die to cute the hills.  Then I used Distress Oxide inks to build my background.  I placed my image slightly behind the smallest hillside (which I popped up on foam tape), added my sentiment and my card was finished.

Eek

It's is my turn to host over at Craft-Dee BowZ. For my hosting project, I created this Distressed Background card with dies from Spellbinders. The theme for this card is for Halloween. I always have a house full for Halloween. My nieces bring their children an some of my grandchildren come over for Trick or Treat. I always end up making about 6lbs of chili and there is never even one bowl left.

I created the background by using distress inks to blend together to make it appear like night time. Then I used the September Small Die of the Month to create this cute little skeleton and ghost trick-or-treaters. Here is a photo of the 6x6 card I created.

And here is a close up of the bow, that I made using the Craft-Dee BowZ bow tool. I just love this polka-dot ribbon.

I hope I have inspired you and I hope that you will join in during the challenge. Our sponsor for the this month is Cute as A Button.

She has some adorable images so please pay her a visit, I'm sure you will find something in her shop that you will enjoy.

Until next time,
